MrBeast becomes the most subscribed YouTuber in the world: Watch his most-popular video – Times of India

YouTuber MrBeast has surpassed PewDiePie in terms of the number of YouTube subscribers to take the crown of the most subscribed YouTuber in the world for an individual channel, as per a report by GizChina.
As per the report, Twitter user Dexetor posted a live view of the time at which MrBeast overtook PewDiePie. The latter remained the overall most subscribed YouTuber for years, untill Indian channel T-Series became the leading channel and has about 229 million subscribers now. But still, when it came to an individual channel, PewDiePie reigned supreme, until now. PewDiePie’s record of 111,846,079 subscribers was crossed by MrBeast.
The MrBeast YouTube channel is run by Jimmy Donaldson. It is based in California. The channel was started in 2010 but began gathering steam only from 2017, with the first breakthrough video garnering more than tens of thousands of views.

One of his popular videos is about simulating the events of the Netflix sensation Squid Game in real life with cash prizes for winners, only that losers here were just ousted from the game. In this Squid Game-themed game, there were 456 participants.

The game cost $3.5 million, and that includes the cash prizes for the contestants. The total pot for the winner of Mr. Beast’s version of Squid Game was $456,000, with the YouTube content creator offering smaller prizes to players who dropped out early.
The game consisted of a total of seven rounds and if you failed in even one, you were kicked out. Participant number 79 won Mr Beast’s first YouTube Squid Game competition, with $456,000. Number 330, the runner up, got $10,000.
